2017 Vintage Casino Tournament Seating Sets Available now!!!

SALVATORE APODACA - Tuesday, August 01, 2017

Some of the first and best casinos of early Las Vegas have long since been imploded, sold, built over and just plain forgotten. The nostalgia of those casinos and the famous and infamous characters and events that shaped Las Vegas are still alive though. Collectors, tourists and historians are often more interested in the days of the Rat Pack, the Mafia, Elvis, desegregation, Liberace and the young Wayne Newton.

This seating set group buy is an homage to four of those early and most iconic casinos.

  • The Aladdin (red)
  • The Pioneer Club (green)
  • The Horseshoe Club (brown)
  • The Stardust (violet)

A tournament seating set allows you to fairly assign seats to players at gaming tables. Generally these are used for poker tournaments but they can actually be used for any gaming activity where you need to randomly seat players.

Each table has a marker - a 107mm rectangular plaque - with a casino name and its color scheme. A player can choose from a bag or you can lay all the chips face down at your check-in table. All the backs of all the seating chips are the same so players can't tell which table or seat each chip belongs to. And their choice is made in full view making the seating process fair and transparent.

Along with the seating chips and the table marker each set also includes a matching dealer button. No poker table is complete without a great dealer button.

Two more options include an 82mm High Hand oval plaque and 43mm Bounty chips. Check out those beauties!

The group buy for this set was started over at the wonderful Poker Chip Forum. If you aren't already became a member go ahead and sign up and explore all the great discussions and debates to had.

You can order these great sets right here on Old West Poker Supplies only for a limited time. And we need your help in meeting the minimum order quantities on all the seating chips so please order before August 15th. You can monitor the progress of the group buy on the forum thread.

If you have any questions or concerns that I haven't answered here or on the forum then please drop me a line  to oldwestps@gmail.com. Don't forget to order before August 15th and we'll be able to ship the final product in early September.

Thank you for your support!

The Official 2016 WSOP Copag Playing Cards Are Here!

SALVATORE APODACA - Sunday, May 07, 2017

(get Lace cards here) (get Main Event cards here)

With over 6700 entrants in 2016 the popularity of the World Series Of Poker doesn't seem to be waning one bit. And every year we get a new batch of the official cards to sell to the masses. They go pretty quick so you'll probably want to get your hands on them right away. You can put them into play while the 2017 WSOP begins or just keep them in their packaging like so many collectors out there.

Here's the official spiel from the manufacturer...

"Poker enthusiasts will love this 2016 World Series of Poker playing card set. Brand new, sealed and never used, this set is a must-have for any collector. These are the very same 100% plastic playing cards used by all World Series of Poker players who participated in the tournament at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Paradise, Nevada. The same cards Qui Nguyen used when he took home $8 million and the coveted bracelet last year."

And don't forget that Copag is still one of the best card manufacturers in the world. Manufactured in Brazil by Copag, these cards are made from Copag's proprietary 100% acetate plastic. Seasoned players know that Copag cards last longer, shuffle better, and deal so fluidly that you'll never want to play with another paper or vinyl card ever again.

Poker Chip Forum at http://www.pokerchipforum.com/
Chiptalk at http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/
and Home Poker Tourney at http://homepokertourney.com/

Social media played a huge role in our success especially Facebook and Twitter

Thank you all for making this a reality especially for our earliest backers who have been so patient and so supportive (denoted by ** before their names) and our largest donors (denoted by three plus signs after their name).

We will submit the artwork hopefully after the weekend. It takes Kickstarter a little time to collect all the funds from the backers. But we should ship the final product next month. I'm really looking forward to getting this started. Thank you all again.

Help Us Fund Our Kickstarter Campaign!

SALVATORE APODACA - Tuesday, August 18, 2015

This is our first Kickstarter campaign. I'm actually pretty excited about it but we're going to need your help. Of course not everyone needs to seat 40 people for a poker tournament but we are hoping that even if you aren't our target audience for this project you might still pitch in a buck or more.

Check it out...

Tournament Seating System Kickstarter Campaign

We are seeking funding for our newest Tournament Seating Chips. This system helps you to seat players using the tools of the trade – poker chips. Each seat has a numbered chip. Each table marker has a color or theme. So you can easily seat up to 40 players with ease. For random seating you simply lay all your seating chips face down on your main table or a side area and they all look exactly the same.

A player can just pick a chip when he or she registers. The chip will have his/her table color/theme and his seat number. It can be recorded by the registrar and the player can be seated. It's a simple, random and transparent system.

It's also attractive and a great conversation starter. I mean check out the theme - heraldry. Who can resist dragons, lions, double-headed eagles and sexy mermaids? But really we're just hoping this will help some of our customers who need to seat players efficiently for tournaments or other games.

Check out the artwork and the setups below...

If you are interested in the product or you just want to help us fund the campaign follow the link at the top of the article. Or maybe you know someone who might be interested in this project. You can share the campaign using this link...

Rounders Replica Ceramic Chips Pre-Order NOW!

SALVATORE APODACA - Sunday, August 02, 2015

"Rounders" is a classic of poker cinema in which the character "Teddy KGB" is a Russian gangster who runs an underground poker club. His house chips are branded with a bear in keeping with the Russian theme. The chips made for the film were originally a clay chip and have been replicated many times since the release of the film. We have finally decided to fashion our own version of the design except we went a step further and added high denomination plaques, a bounty button and a dealer button which I'm quite sure have never been offered before.

You can check them all out and pre-order them right here:

http://www.oldwestpokersupplies.com/shop/stock-ceramic-poker-chips/rounders-replicas

As stated in our previous announcement these chips are in the prototype stage which means the design may be tweaked very slightly but if you like the current design and are quite prepared to move forward we can customize a set for you right now. Just send us an email.

Here are the new additions to the set.

A couple of high denomination plaques for the big kids table...

And check out the new bounty and dealer buttons! I love these designs. They scream "red scare". lol.

Rounders Poker Chip Replica Pre-Release Announcement

SALVATORE APODACA - Friday, July 31, 2015

Hey there partners. Or should I say "привет" for you Russian speakers. Check it out. We've finally decided to offer our version of the poker chips used by Teddy KGB in the film "Rounders". That's right. Break out the Oreos. The replicas have originally been done a lot in the clay variety so this is not ground breaking or anything we just wanted to give ceramics fans a chance to have a set as well. Plus because they are ceramic they are fully customizable. If you want to change anything it's your call.

Pre-orders are available at the link below...

http://www.oldwestpokersupplies.com/shop/stock-ceramic-poker-chips/rounders-replicas

These are currently in the prototype phase but you should be able to pre-order them as soon as August 1st. Yes, that's tomorrow. So you can pre-order samples sets and full sets. Send us an email if you have any questions at all. You can also ask us to customize your own version of this famous poker chip design and get it printed before everyone else gets their hands on the stock version. But you're going to have to handle Worm on your own. Keep him away from these beauties. (Such a perfect name for that character by the way.)

We will also be releasing plaques in the square and oval versions, as well as a dealer button. We're going "all in" with this set. Was that too much? lol. I'll update with the links for the pre-orders as soon as they become available. Do svidanya!

Our Custom Poker Chip Gallery

SALVATORE APODACA - Sunday, July 26, 2015

A few weeks ago we debuted our Custom Poker Chip Gallery which displays a small percentage of the work we've done throughout the many years (12) we've been in business. Some of the work in the gallery is work that we actually designed for customers. We do a lot of design assistance completely free for our customers.

We thought putting some of work into a gallery would showcase not only the work we do but would be a great way to highlight the fact that design for this specific genre is really overlooked. There are many artists in the poker chip design industry. These small works of art are admired and collected throughout the world.

So enjoy the gallery and the next time you're handling some poker chips at your nearest club or casino take a moment to admire the artwork on the chip. And if you're a customer who has had work done in the past or is having a set printed or maybe wants to get a set printed and you want your work highlighted in our gallery let us know by sending us an email.

Best Browsers

SALVATORE APODACA - Saturday, July 04, 2015

Well, we've gotten a few reports of problems from folks trying to place orders. This is not uncommon in this world where there are so many different operating systems and so many different devices that all use different types of browsers. It can get very confusing.

First of all, let's start with the obvious. Microsoft announced this year that they are dumping Internet Explorer. Of course they'll be replacing it with a new browser called Edge but at this point we haven't designed our site nor do we support any Micrsoft browsers. Sorry. So if you do happen to be an IE user you might not be able to place an order. In that case you can contact us via email to place an order another way or download one the more modern browsers below.

These are the browsers we have tested and that we currently support...
Google Chromehttp://www.google.com/chrome/
Mozilla Firefoxhttps://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
Apple Safarihttps://www.apple.com/safari/
Opera Software's Operahttp://www.opera.com/

We highly recommend all of the browsers above. My favorite happens to be a tie between Chrome and Firefox.

Now you might ask. Why wouldn't we support Internet Explorer? Well, it tends to require a lot of extra attention that we just didn't have the time to build for. And since it is being put out to pasture we just felt our time was better spent supporting other more modern browsers. We may add some support in the future but right now it is best if you use one of the above browsers.

Just remember you don't have to uninstall your old IE browser. You can have an extra browser on your system any time. It sometimes helps because some sites just won't work with certain browsers.

If you have any questions or would like to offer us some advice :) just drop us a line. Thanks guys. Happy 4th of July!
